Money insights feature overview

See exactly where your money is going by using money insights. Here in this guide, we'll give you a full overview of how to get the most out of the money insights feature.

1. A quick summary

The money insights feature can be found within the menu screen. Once you open Money Insights, you'll see that you can toggle between expenses and income at the top, select your date range & graph options using the green chip and then also select the filter icon to filter by categories, tags, merchants or accounts. Then below the graph you'll see all your transactions.

2. Using the date range & graph options

Start by selecting the green chip to open your date range & graph options, from here you can choose if you want to show trend or breakdown, then select the graph type along with date granularity and also period.

3. Using the money insight filters

‍

To filter your graph and transactions, use money insight filters. To select filters, simply start by selecting the filter icon next to the green chip. From there, you can filter by categories, tags, merchants or accounts to get key insights on exactly what's happening with your money. Once you've selected your filters, simply select 'Apply filters'.

4. Diving deeper into transactions

When you apply money insight filters or select date ranges, this will also filter the transactions that display below the graph as well. Here is where you can dive even deeper into your higher level metrics in the graphs and see them at the transaction level.

5. Saved reports

‍

Here you can select the save icon to view your saved reports and also create new reports. To create new reports, simply apply the date & graph options and money insight filters to show the data you'd like, then select the save icon to create a new report. From there, you can also load in saved reports as well.

6. Using money insights to set budgets

‍

Using the money insights feature is a great way to understand where your money is going and how much you earn. Start by reviewing your spending and seeing where you can cut back on things that you think you don't need. Use this to set your budgets for that category to make sure you stay within your limits.
