How to create a one off budget

How to create a one off budget

Have an expense that's outside your regular spending, like a holiday? A one-off budget lets you track that spend without affecting your regular leftover.

1. A quick summary

One-off budgets sit separately from your weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or custom list. They are not tied to a regular category, and leftover on them does not roll over.

Categorise those transactions to the one-off so they stay out of your regular income and expense budgets.

2. Add a one-off budget

On the Budget screen, under one-off budgets, tap Add new or the +.

Then enter:

  • 1. Name
  • 2. Amount
  • 3. Colour and emoji, if you want

Tap Add one off budget. The new one-off appears at the bottom of the Budget screen.

3. Categorise your transactions

Creating a one-off also creates a category you can pick when you categorise transactions. Tap the transaction category, then select your one-off. The spend value updates, and you can see those transactions in the one-off details.

4. Archive or delete

  • Archive - on mobile, open the one-off and tap archive. It moves to archived one-off budgets. Use the archive icon on Budget to show them again
  • Delete - open the one-off, tap the bin icon, then confirm. On web, delete is the way to remove a one-off you no longer need

For regular spending, use an expense budget instead. Read Budget feature overview.
