How to add an asset

Have something you own that you want to track, like a house, savings, or shares? Here's how to add an asset so it shows in your net worth each month.

1. A quick summary

‍

Your assets are what you own. When you add one, you'll give it a name, value, type, and emoji. You can link a connected account so the value updates automatically, or enter the value yourself.

The value you enter is for the current month. Past months stay at $0 until you add them in Edit, unless the asset is linked to an account.

2. Adding an asset

On the Net worth screen, tap Add asset on web, or the + next to Add an asset on mobile.

‍

If your plan doesn't include net worth, you'll see the upgrade screen instead.

‍

3. Enter your details

‍

On the add asset screen, enter:

‍

• 1. Name
• 2. Type - required. Pick a type such as Property, Cash, or Stocks. This is how the asset is grouped on the Net worth screen
• 3. Value - what the asset is worth this month
• 4. Emoji

4. Link an account or enter the value

‍

Next to Link to an account, tap Yes or leave it as No.

‍

• Yes - pick one or more connected accounts. Their balances become the asset value, and stay up to date automatically. Linked items also fill past months from those account balances
• No - enter the Value yourself. You'll need to update this if the amount changes

5. Add your asset

‍

Tap the green Add asset button. You'll land back on the Net worth screen, where the new asset sits in its type group.
