Connect to Kernel Wealth
Connect your Kernel Wealth accounts to BudgetBuddie and securely sync your balances, the same accounts you manage via Kernel Wealth online or their app. Supported account types:
- Kernel KiwiSaver Accounts
- Kernel Investment Funds
How to get connected
- Log in to your BudgetBuddie account.
- Go to the Connect accounts section.
- Choose Kernel Wealth from the list of available connections.
- Follow the prompts to securely log in using your Kernel Wealth details.
- Select the accounts you want to connect.
- Authorise the connection then you’re done!

How we handle security
When you connect your accounts to BudgetBuddie, your security is our top priority.
We use Akahu, New Zealand’s trusted open banking platform, to manage all connections. All data is encrypted end-to-end and BudgetBuddie never sees or stores your online banking or platform passwords.
Once connected, BudgetBuddie accesses read-only information including balances, transactions, and account details so we can never move money or make changes to your accounts, ever. You can view and revoke access to any connection at any time via the connect accounts feature.
