John's money journey

Tell us a bit about yourself
Early 60s Auckland working professional and preparing for retirement down the track. Got "educated" on personal wealth management a bit late in life, but never too late. Better late than never. Son in Uni and also preparing for the 'empty nest' years.
What's your money story?
For too long didn't really think too much about financial planning. Achieved "debt free" status some years ago. But later realised that while that was a great goal, it's still not enough. So now focusing on smarter money management. Really recommend the book "Die with Zero" by Bill Perkins. Other books such as "Rich Enough" by Mary Holm, and "Your Money or Your Life", Joe Dominquez and Vicky Robin.
What drew you to BudgetBuddie?
Simplicity of it all. I used to spend hours each month analysing trends. BudgetBuddie saves me at least two hours a month, and helps present the information and insights in an easy to digest manner.
How has BudgetBuddie changed the way you think about and manage your money?
Understand the ups and downs from month to month better. Achieved more stability across several months.
What’s a money goal that really matters to you, and how is BudgetBuddie helping you work towards it?
Not stressed about Money, no big goal such as a holiday or something like that. But more about ensuring that a well-planned and well-managed retirement is achievable, without downgrading (too much) on current lifestyle.
What would you say to someone thinking about using BudgetBuddie?
Just use it. High value product and getting improvements all the time.
