Tell us a bit about yourself

‍

Driven by a lifelong passion for experiencing life and helping others move beyond limiting mindsets, I’m a public speaker specialising in mental health, rehabilitation, and spiritual well-being, travelling between Australia and New Zealand.

‍

Day-to-day, I oversee the projects and ventures I’ve founded working with people worldwide through my mental health practice and public speaking, creating digital designs for my small merchandise shop, and supporting my family-run business, which offers keto-friendly treats to locals and cafes around New Zealand.

‍

Locally, I’m best known for my daily community work. I love helping out in local businesses and using these collaborations to expand their outreach, promote their products, and grow their audiences, whether that’s through affiliate discount codes or sponsorships where I showcase their offerings to a wider public audience.

‍

I believe that business starts with investing in yourself. When you trust your inspiration and gut instinct to guide each step, you step out of old systems that no longer serve and into a world of abundance and meaningful connections uplifting others and helping them do the same.

‍

‍

What's your money story?

‍

Before embarking on my current projects and ventures, my relationship with money was a constant source of stress. Trapped in a poverty mindset, perpetually struggling to balance the rising cost of living with a stagnant income, and deeply entrenched in the relentless nine-to-five grind, I found myself profoundly unhappy. A persistent, nagging feeling whispered that there had to be more to life than the status quo, a cycle of consumption and quiet despair.

‍

Then came what felt like the most audacious decision of my life: to leave a job I passionately disliked and forge my own path. With less than ten thousand in the bank, I knew I had only a few months to get my new ventures off the ground. As expected, money dwindled, and progress was slow, pushing me to rock bottom. I confronted every financial fear imaginable: the dread of complete failure, of ending up homeless. Yet, the unique advantage of hitting rock bottom is that the only direction left to go is up.

‍

This confrontation with my deepest fears, I now realize, was the Universe providing me with my first business investment: an investment in myself. How could any external endeavour thrive if the mind guiding it lacked stability and self-belief?

‍

Through dedicated self-work and an unwavering commitment to pursuing what I truly loved, I began to notice a remarkable shift. By providing services that genuinely ignited my passion, things slowly but surely started to fall into place with an unexpected ease.

‍

This journey has affirmed my belief that creativity and the sharing of one's passion are infinitely more fulfilling than mere consumption. My old life was defined by endless scrolling, streaming, passive eating, and spending. Now, a "hustler's mindset" has emerged, prompting a fundamental shift in my questions: "What can I create? What problems can I solve? How can I serve?" This profound change in mindset has truly made all the difference. This is more than just a new way of working; it's a new way of living, and it's a testament to the power of inner transformation.

‍

Today, my relationship with money is one of gratitude. For there was once a time I had nothing and lived in constant fear of losing what little I had. Now, much like the markets themselves, money comes and money goes, and I am genuinely grateful for both its ebb and flow. Like leaves on a tree, leaves may blow off on one side, but new ones are constantly growing on another. What once controlled my peace, the amount of money I possessed, I now see as utterly separate from the stability within my own mind.

‍

From my overseas travels, some of the richest people I know live in misery, consumed by the fear of losing their wealth, while some of the poorest people I know live in constant gratitude for what they have. This profound shift in perspective, from fear to gratitude, from scarcity to abundance, is, without doubt, the most valuable return on investment I have ever received. This journey is not just a story; it's a pointer for a more fulfilling existence.

What drew you to BudgetBuddie?

‍

After creating financial overview Excel spreadsheets, which relied upon hours of formula creation and tedious manual data entry, I knew there had to be a better way of having a full overview of my finances.

‍

BudgetBuddie offers me a full financial overview all within one app. From everyday transactions to savings, investment accounts and portfolios, property portfolio accounts, KiwiSaver funds, and any personal loans, I can overview all of the balances of each account all in one place.

‍

No need for seven different banking apps to track balances anymore. Got a wad of cash in my wallet or other liquid assets? I can create an in-app account for those too, and the app automatically shows the total balance of all or chosen bank accounts.

‍

Want to know my total net worth? There's a tab for that. Want help with retirement forecasting? There's a tab for that. Want to create goals to save for? There's a tab for that. Want an overview of merchants I’ve transacted with or simply an overview of my daily, weekly, or yearly cash flow? There are tabs for those too. It really is my all-in-one money companion that saves me time and money, literally.

‍

How has BudgetBuddie changed the way you think about and manage your money?

‍

Since starting with BudgetBuddie, I now have more knowledge of where my money is going and a chance to see the long-term effects of those decisions. That $25 a day eating out for breakfast, lunch, or dinner adds up to $125 for five days, which is $6,500 if I continue that for a year.

‍

Spending money in the moment is often a great dopamine hit for us all, but that feeling doesn't last long. BudgetBuddie allows you to create healthy spending habits by providing an overview of all your financials, offering tools to set budgets and goals, and alerting you to areas of your cash flow and portfolio that you may need to take accountability for.

‍

I'm not kidding when I say this app will save you time and money.

‍

What’s a money goal that really matters to you, and how is BudgetBuddie helping you work towards it?

‍

I've always believed that the most crucial initial investment one can make is in oneself. True wealth, after all, originates from a wealthy mindset. This core philosophy has significantly shaped my financial aspirations, particularly my long-term goal of acquiring further assets in Oceania, such as retreat centres.

‍

My vision for these centres is to create a space where individuals from across the globe can genuinely detach from the relentless demands of the status quo. In a world often defined by the frantic pace of a nine-to-five schedule, these spaces would offer a vital respite, an opportunity to unwind from limiting mindsets that no longer serve, and instead, cultivate purpose and meaningful connections.

‍

Managing such ambitious, long-term goals requires not just foresight, but also robust tools. This is precisely where BudgetBuddie truly shines. Its 'bird's eye overview' of my money management has been instrumental in fostering genuine financial discipline. It empowers me to take full responsibility for my financial decisions, clearly highlighting areas that may require adjustment to keep these significant long-term aspirations firmly within reach.

‍

BudgetBuddie isn't just about tracking expenses; it's about providing the clarity and control needed to transform a wealthy mindset into tangible, long-term financial success. For anyone serious about investing in themselves and their future, BudgetBuddie is an indispensable partner.

‍

What would you say to someone thinking about using BudgetBuddie?

‍

Leave tedious Excel spreadsheets behind, just like I did, and get ready to abandon a poverty mindset. BudgetBuddie empowers you to invest in yourself by providing insights into your overall financial picture, paving the way for a future unlike your past.

‍

Warren Buffett famously said, "Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago." This app isn't just for you. By planting a seed today, your future retired self, partner, children, and family can all enjoy the shade for years to come.
