Hey Budget Buddies, Welcome to 2023!

We’ve been a bit MIA the last couple months, that’s because we’ve been busy designing, planning and preparing for our big launch towards the end of this year. We know it’s a while away yet, but we’re as eager as you to get BudgetBuddie into your hands!

‍

You might remember, we asked you to complete a survey on how you manage your finances. The results we got back from over 100 of you were super interesting and helped us push forward to create a solution to improve your finances.

‍

Before we go through the results, i’d just like to say a big thanks to you (add name) for all the support this far into this journey, we can’t wait to see what we can bring to 2023!

Let's get into the nitty gritty.

Age & demographics:

‍

57% of responses were from people aged between 18-25, 28% we’re from people aged between 25-35. 

‍

The main demographic were couples with no kids which were 44% of the responses. 32% were single adults.

‍

How people are managing their finances now.

‍

A staggering 75% of responses said that they managed their finances by using their banking app. 22% of responses said they used an excel spreadsheet or google sheets. 

‍

Using your banking app is a great tool, but with only being able to see transactions and account balances it doesn’t exactly give you full clarity on your finances. 

‍

Being able to set & track budgets, view summaries of your spending, set goals and manage cash flow is how you can get the full picture and stay on top of your money. 

‍

How much clarity do you have on your finances?

‍

58% of responses came back as having some clarity but would like more. 33% had full clarity and 9% had no clarity at all. 

‍

What people wish they knew more about when it came to their personal finances. 

‍

Here are the top 5 things people wanted to know more about:

  1. How to save more money
  2. Where you’re spending your money
  3. Spend groupings and summaries
  4. How to budget correctly and stay on track
  5. Investing & better savings strategies.

How confident do you feel about your finances at the moment & how you're managing them?

‍

47% of responses stated they’re kind of confident but could be better. 39% stated they were confident, 9% stated they weren’t confident and 5% said they were very confident.
