Hello & Welcome!
β
Welcome to BudgetBuddie, a personal finance mobile & web companion platform that will empower you to make better money choices and give you more clarity on your finances. Before we kick into our story I want to give a quick intro, my names Tim and i'm the founder of BudgetBuddie.
Our story
β
Our story really started back a year ago when I really started to take my finances seriously, I spent hours on end researching on how to create the foundation for a better financial future. Yes i've made many dumb money choices that led me to this point, haven't we all?
β
Throughout the process what I found from many books, websites, articles and podcasts was that not only was my head spinning, but there wasn't really any platforms out there that provided me with full clarity on my finances and allowed me to easily understand it. Some platforms had some feature's but were missing others, some were too complicated, some took far too long to set up, and the list goes on. That's where my eureka moment began!
β
Managing your personal finances shouldn't be difficult, you should easily be able to take control of it, no matter what your experience level is.
β
I ended up spending hours on end building and updating spreadsheets to manage mine & my partners finances. The realisation I came to was that managing your personal finances shouldn't be difficult and anyone should be able to take control of it, no matter what their experience level is. So then BudgetBuddie was born.
β
Why now?
β
Money is a taboo subject in New Zealand. We make money, we spend money, we save money, we sometimes invest money but we never really talk about money for some reason? But good news! That persona is starting to change, with prices increasing for household items, we're seeing a lot more people open up about their finances and search for help & guidance to navigate through these turbulent times.
β
Getting on top of your money and making sure its not just cash-in cash-out each week is one of the first key mountains you need to conquer. To do that, the first step is you need to analysis your spending and set a budget for yourself.
β
Taking that first step can be daunting and that's why we created BudgetBuddie, not only to help you through that first step but also to take the next step as well.
β
