Connecting your accounts with BudgetBuddie

We like to make things easy, so we’ve included the ability for you to connect your bank, kiwisaver and investment portfolios to BudgetBuddie to pull through your financial information.

‍

The connection is fully secure with 256-bit bank grade encryption to keep your data 100% safe. 

‍

The connection is managed through Akahu, Akahu is a New Zealand open finance infrastructure provider that allows people to connect their accounts to third party products like BudgetBuddie.

‍

Once you're connected all your financial data will pull through, this data includes account balances, transactions and income details. Your data gets updated multiple times a day so you know exactly where you stand at any given time. 

‍

However, if you want to refresh your data then you can do so at the bottom of the connect your accounts screen.

‍

How to get connected

‍

Getting connected is easy and quick, all you need to do is follow the below steps.

‍

  1. Navigate to the connect your accounts screen through the menu.
  2. Select which bank you’d like to connect to. Or connect to a Kiwisaver or Investment portfolio.
  3. You’ll then be redirected to Akahu to enter in your account details. 
  4. You’re all set up! Now all your information will come through and you’ll see your finances come to life.

Have accounts with multiple banks & providers? No problem! You can connect to as many providers as you need if you have accounts spread across multiple, all your connections pull through into one so you can see everything all in one place.

Once you’re all connected, the data is already enriched with spend categories so you have the option to automatically categorise all merchants or alternatively, create your own categories based on your budget.

Now you’re one step closer to getting more clarity on your personal finances.
